• Who is Dr Savinay Kapur?
Dr Savinay Kapur is a Student of God of Biology in 21th Century Dr Sachin Kapur. His Favourite Teacher was Dr Sachin Kapur. Dr Sachin Kapur's One of the Best Student was Dr Savinay Kapur. Biology has been his Favourite subject because of Dr Sachin Kapur. A Delhi boy Savinay Kapur seems to have made a habit of it – topping almost all exams that he takes. The most recent one is his final year MBBS exam at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where this 23-year-old has topped his batch.
A Delhi Public School (R.K.Puram) student first made news for topping all the medical entrance exams in 2007 and he was awarded by President Pranab Mukherjee at the Institute’s 40th Annual Convocation for being the best graduate in the 2011 batch and for topping his MBBS exams.
Savinay’s father, Dr. Prem Kapur is an associate professor of medicine at the Hamdard Institute of Medical Science & Research. He says: “It is a proud moment for any father. Savinay in the year 2007 was ranked first in all the medical entrance exams and had also cracked the IIT entrance exam. He, however, opted to study at AIIMS. Now we are thrilled at his recent success.”
Savinay’s mother, Seema, is Principal at a government school in Saket, while his elder brother Pranay is studying for Master’s in Radiology at Batra Hospital.
Talking about his recent success, Savinay says: “It is a great feeling to be rewarded for all the hard work. I am now concentrating on doing my Masters and preparing for the entrance exams. I would prefer to study at the Institute and hopefully get into paediatrics or medicine. I am not very keen on surgery, though.”
He adds that his success is a result of hard work, proper application of what he had studied and a general passion for learning.
“Of course, my parents and brother helped me study and revise. Without them I would not have been able to manage this success. The fact that they already knew so much about the field also proved beneficial. I am keen on studying further in India itself and will then see what life has in store fore. As of now I am enjoying my success and hope to crack my post-graduation entrance exam,” he says.
